1 Inch to 100 Yards Warrior Conference moves from Laughlin NV to Reno NV in 2010!
Since 2007, the 1 Inch to 100 Yards Warrior event had been based in the River Palms Resort in Laughlin NV, but in 2010 will be moving from Laughlin to the Grand Sierra Resort & Convention Center in Reno NV.
Because of the rapid growth and popularity of the event we needed to make a few decisions. The first was to change its dates for upcoming years to a time period in the year with minimal conflicts with other events. Because many of our attendees also go to the US Border Patrol BORTAC expo in El Paso TX and the SOCOM SOFIC/SOF Well event in Tampa FL, we opted to move the 1 Inch to 100 Yards to August, but in moving the event to the middle of summer came another problem…heat! Laughlin NV sits at about 500 ft above sea level on the Colorado River, August sees temps as high as 120 F, this meant that travel and our outdoor range activities were going to be hurt.
Our second problem was size, the River Palms Resort was very good to us, actually much better then they needed to be and worked hard to accommodate every need we had, but even with the level of service we were running out of room.
Then the option to move to Reno NV came up, Reno sits at about 4500 Feet above sea level and is in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. The summer temps peak in the 90’s and see evening in the 50’s and 60’s.
So the decision was made and the Grand Sierra came up as our prime choice of properties. A huge “Vegas Strip” size property with nearly 2000 rooms and suites, 80,000 Sq Ft of gaming space, great celebrity Chef restaurants (Charlie Palmer), over $300 million in upgrades and a full size, full service traditional convention center!
The Grand Sierra sits 1.5 miles from the Reno International Airport. The Reno airport has direct flights from major airports from all over the US daily, plus international connections from Europe and Asia.
Please join us in 2012 in Reno!
